Public Load Board

Other companies use the public load board to secure trucks for their overflow freight needs. Frito Lay for example, uses a private board to manage their carrier network, but regularly posts inbound potato shipments from their suppliers on the public load board to receive offers from the RTF freight carrier community to ensure best delivery times, and market value pricing for those loads.

Shipper Lane Quotes

In addition to posting spot market loads that need to be hauled, direct shippers that use the Real Time Freight load board have the ability to post regular or seasonal lanes that they would like market value quotes on. All members of the freight carrier community can submit offers of the lanes that are posted, providing the shipper with a selection to choose from as they renegotiate their carrier contracts for these lanes.

Carriers can filter the load board to see only the lane quotes that have been posted, and on the load board, the lane quotes show up with a highlighted field to indicate that it is not a spot market load, but a request for a lane quote.
