Lumber Joins the Real Time Freight Services Family

Chicago, IL—Real Time Freight Services LLC hit another milestone today when it announced Plum Creek Timber Company as its newest customer. Based out of Seattle, WA and owning almost 8 million acres of timberland, Plum Creek Timber Co. is one of the largest flatbed lumber shippers in the United States. Plum Creek signed on with RTFS to make its truck-finding process more efficient and maintain its status as leader and innovator in the timber industry. The idea of eliminating all of the unnecessary inbound and outbound phone calls was a key in their decision making process.

Creating a private network for Plum Creek marks RTFS’s first foray into the lumber industry. “It’s great to expand into another industry with similar transportation issues and needs,” says Patrick Maloney, RTFS Sales Manager. “We’re excited to demonstrate the success of our solution in another area of the transportation industry, that being helping companies find flatbeds.”
